Such a tranquil place, just what we needed. This really is a beautiful place to stay, feels wonderfully secluded but yet not far away from anything. The owners have got it just right! Will recommend to everyone and will be back again!
Second visit, just as lovely as before, we leave feeling totally relaxed after a wonderfully peaceful weekend, Thank you!
We've enjoyed a lovely week in this wonderful area. Highlights included watching Dolphins at Llangrannog & Mwnt, Seals at Cwmtydu and Red Kite over the garden. Thank you!
We have been coming here for many many years (at leats 20!) and are booked in for next year already. Wig Farm is a very special place and the welcome is always warm, nothing is too much trouble for the owners, they even remade the footpath so that an old crock in a wheelchair could come and visit her favourite place in the world! Thank you!
We love this cabin, particularly the woodburner. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, kind and homely, thank you so much!
Thanks once again for a wonderful stay. Our daughters loved feeding the animals and we have all enjoyed the wonderful beaches and walks. Looking forward to next year already! Thanks once again.
What a delightful place. Beautiful scenery and amazing views. We have enjoyed a peaceful, restful stay. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for a warm welcome. We have had a fabulous time here. Our highlights included watching a pod of Dolphins nearby and the heron and woodpecker from the caban window. The Peace & Quiet has been wonderful, Thank you!
Beautiful place, peace and quiet, just brilliant. Enjoyed a truly relaxing few days, watching the heron, woodpeckers and all the other wildlife. Hope to see you next year!
Another wonderful stay in this idyllic place, thanks for everything again. Enjoyed feeding the Robin every day. We must be visiting for 18 years now and we just love coming back, See you next year!
Our first visit to this picturesque, peaceful place. Flora and wildlife in abundance, especially enjoyed watching the kingfisher in the mornings. Nearby beaches are stunning. Y Caban is perfect and with a glass of wine & log fire in the evening it was just perfect!
Idylic setting, dream of a bed. Wonderful hosts and a great base for visiting many beautiful areas. Thanks for a lovely week, see you again.
Scenes from our window...Redstarts busy nesting, both woodpeckers feeding young and the squirrel comes along. Then the buzzard comes to roost and the bats appear. The sensor light comes on, it's just the fox trotting by... Turtle in the pond, Nuthatches flying about. We just go as far as New Quay and the dolphins are there to put on a display. Brilliant! Fantastic week, just went far too fast. Thank you!
What a lovely retreat from busy city hustle & bustle. Glorious peace & tranquility, just what we needed. We love this part of "God's country" and never tire of coming here. Big Thank you to our thoughtful hosts!
Fantastic location, a real paradise. The most relaxing holiday we have ever had and we don't want to go home! Already looking forward to coming back!

We are regular visitors to this part of Wales- lured back each year by the coastline, the widlife and the more seculded nature. We loved out stay in y Caban and enjoyed being nestled away in the woods - very peaceful, beautiful and tranquil. Great accommodation, everything we needed
A tranquil space
A peaceful place
Where the cares of the world drift away
A gem of a find
We leave behind
Till the next time we come to stay x
We had such an amazing relaxing week, we don't want to go home. Saw a fox & 2 cubs , lots of seals all week. The fire made y Caban lovely and cosy at night. Lovely to be able to leave the doors open for the dogs to wander in and out. A place we could definitley return to. Thank you!
We've had a fabulous week here. It is really beautiful with such incredible scenery and lovely accommodation. A Big Thank you to your both for everything
Our first viist to Wales. Thoroughily enjoyed every minute. Amazing views from the coastal paths, perfect for dog walking. Loved coming back to our cosy cabin. Its been a real treat to relax and watch the birds at the feeder. We found everything we could possibly need in y Caban, which importantly had very comfy seating and bed. Thank you for your warm welcome
We loved our stay, very cosy and romantic. The surrounding grounds and area are spectacular. We will highky recommend this place
Thank you for our stay in this idyllic hideaway. Just what we needed to re-fuel after living in London. Walked the coastal path to Llangrannog & back, lunch in the pub on the beach! We've enjoyed relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Wonderful to have the birds as your alarm clock. We hope to come back.
Y Caban is perfect but the birdfeeder is the star! Like everyone else before us I really hope we are back very soon
It would be difficult to find a cosier retreat to be in during storms dudley and eunice. Sitting by the hige log burner, watching the trees and birds fighting against the wind, Y caban has everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful stay. We return home refreshed and recharged, Thank you both
2nd stay and it was as magical as our first. The surroundings and the peace and quiet are exactly what we needed. Thanks you for letting us share this truly beautiful place. See you again!
At last we are back for the umpteenth time. Last year cancelled due to lockdown so lovely to come back. So cosy, so wonderful, lovely walks, lovely quaint towns to visit and great places to eat. Until next time!
Novemebr is a lovely time to get away for some fantastic walking and nature. Lots of useful info on local walks etc. Enjoyed visiting all the lovely coastal towns, cardigan, New Quay Aberporth Aberaeron etc. Feel re-energised and totall rested. You have though of everything in the Caban and the focus on recycling and sustainability gets a big thumbs up from us
Definitely one of the most serene places to stay, Already looking forward to return visit Y Caban is truly a delight, peaceful, beautiful, stunning surroundings, wonderful hosts, fab walks, even the dog does not want to leave! Till next time
A stunning setting in a beautiful part of the country. Highlights include coastal walks, magnificent Pentre Ifan burial chamber, fish & chips from the lime crab in New Quay. But the best bit was just relaxing in y Caban. You have done a wonderful job here, thought of every little detail and keep the grounds immaculate, Lovely welcoming friendly people, hope to see you again
Never before have we been to a place where everything has been thought of! Lovely area, spent a lot of time just watching the birdscome and go outside the window. Great area to explore, beaches walks etc. our dog loved it too, thankyou
The tranquility and silence with the activity of the birds is mesmerising. There is a Tawny Owl in the woods and one evening we came back to find him perched on a branch just 10 feet from the lounge window. The battle at the bird feeder between a field mouse and nuthatch was classic. We saw dolphins at Mwnt, swam at 2 remote beaches near Llangrannog. Easy to get round when you get your bearings but staying in is the best. Perfect relaxation!
First visit with my sister. Constant sunshine, breakfazt on verandah each morning just watching the birds and other wildlife. Walks through shady woods were bliss. Very licky to see a terapin sunbathing just outside and tiny froglets the size of your fingernal scurring through the grass. The warm welcome and peaceful surroundings never change. Thank you
Your Caban and its surroundings are so nice that we could have just steyed right here for the whole week. The wildlife at the door is amazing, Some highlights: A woodpecker feeding its chick, 2 herons fishing on the pond, jays, bats, squirrels, nuthatches, mice, fish, tadpoles and a terrapin! We also enjoyed the local castles, rivers, forest and walking the coastal path to stunning beaches. We don't want to go home now!
Such an amazing week, stunning wildlife. Even saw a tawny owl chick being fed by parent. Walking from the caban to the beach is a must, truly stunning loved the lodge and the fire. Thank you
I generally have a rule when it comes to holidays, never to go back but having spent a week here I plan to break that rule! Enjoyed Glorious sunshine lazing on local beaches and afternoons by the fire when it rained. This is truly the most peaceful place we have stayed and I would recommend it to anyone.
The most wonderful few days relaxing, walking and visiting stunning beaches. We really enjoyed birdwatching from the deck and have been locky enough to soak up some rays in this most delightful secluded spot. We have never holidayed in the same place twice but this place is going to be our exception. Thank you!
The wildlife is mesmerising and we could just sit & watch it all weekend. We leave feeling replenished after a long year of lockdowns. Thank you for your warm hospitality.
Back again at y Caban. This place draws us back every year to just chill & relaxin beautiful surroundings. It is like coming home each time we visit. Thanks Norma & James for letting us share this piece of heaven and for your hospitality. Its back to reality for now but we hope to see you both soon.
Here we are again. Another very warm welcome from Norma & James.
Y Cabin is still our fave place to stay, it is very cosy and in a wonderful setting. Loads of Birds around again.
All our fave places visited Mwnt, New Quay, Cardigan/Farm Park, Aberaeron and the Welsh Botanical Gardens with the fantastic Birds of Prey shows.
We are always so relaxed and stress free after only a day here, and always very reluctant to leave.
Thanks again both of you for a fantastic stay, for saving the hot weather for us, for the flowers & welsh cakes.
See you all being well in 2025
This was our first time here and we have loved it! The peace & tranquillity of the garden is amazing and we wish we could take a bit home with us! It has been so relaxing watching the birds, and the red kites flying over and the dragonflies by the pond.
Also the bunnies and bats. The cabin is cosy and inviting and the fire is amazing! We would definitely recommend it to others and hopefully will be back in the future!
Thanks for letting us have a little slice of heaven for a week!
This is a perfectly peaceful place. We’ve enjoyed the surroundings and the occasional visit of a hungry heron. Y Caban is perfect for 2 people and a dog, excellent facilities.
We are sure to return. Many chats to our attentive hosts, who gave us good advice about surrounding walks and a surprising piece of history!
We have had a fabulous week staying in y Cabin. It is really beautiful and lovely accommodation. We have enjoyed the wonderful walks. We will be definitely coming back. Thank you for the welsh cakes, milk and fresh flowers. Thank you
We have had a fantastic week staying in y Caban. Visited all our favourite places & seen dolphins and Chough. Have also spent plenty of time in this lovely place, enjoying the gardens & grounds and all the wildlife in it. We have been lucky to see the kingfisher on the pond and a fox on the path in front of y Caban. Thank you Norma & James for such a lovely place to stay. See you soon!
Yet another incredible holiday in Y caban. Perfect in every way. Thank you so much Norma & James for your hospitality & making our stay so special, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay.
Honey loves it too, the freedom she has here is second to none. It’s a joy to see her run around the grounds. Heron on the pond most evenings. Would recommend same days out as Abby & spencer but also the beach at Cwmtydu which is quite special if you want to sit, relax & enjoy the sea. If you enjoy fish & chips I would recommend the lime crab in New Quay, fresh fish to order. It will be very difficult to leave this little bit of paradise tomorrow, Can’t wait to return!
Our 2nd visit because we absolutely love it here. Wonderful hosts always friendly & welcoming. Y Caban is all you need & more, so very peaceful, abundant wildlife. Would recommend Rheidol Steam Railway, Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge, Mwnt beach, our favourite beach ever! Definitley recommend the Dolphin spotting trip “A Bay to Remember” we have done it twice over the last 2 years & s aw dolphins both times (plus a peregrine falcon chick this time!)
Thanks Norma & James , we love Y Caban, all we need here, thanks for the welshcakes & flowers, Slept so well again! Saw a herom most mornings on the pond, early around 6am
Thanks so much, sad to leave
Had a fabulous time here, beautiful surroundings & cabin. Thank you Norma & James for a lovely holiday home and extra touches. Can’t wait to come back, sad to leave.
p.s. thank you for being lovely hosts and thinking of everything for first timers to this beautiful part of wales.
Thanks you Norma & James for your warm welcome and the use of your beautiful cabin. I loved the views from every window and will miss all the birdsong & tranquillity.
The walk through the woods to Llangrannog (one of my favourite places) was lovely. So good to be somewhere so secluded but still able to leave the car behind.
Would recommend Mwnt for stunning scenery, end of the world type feeling. Cwmtydu is another favourite of mine. Excellent pizzas (and cake) at Tafell a Tan in Llangrannog. Beach café good for fish & chips. My pooch Poppy & I had many happy hours on our pop-up tent on the beach!
Such a peaceful place, it has been just what we needed to take time away from the fast lane of life.
We have enjoyed walking form the cabin to Llangrannog and Cwmtydu so could have some car free days. Saw some dolphins when walking the coastal path from Mwnt. Teifi Marshes nature reserve is interesting and would recommend. The gorge walk to Cilgerran is energetic!
Thanks Norma & james for the use of a comfortable & secluded base for exploring.
What a lovely cabin and setting. What a lovely welcome from James & Norma, particularly the fired-up woodburner. The cabin was spotless & had everything you could need, home from home.
My border collie had the best time too! Although exploring the pond whilst I was unpacking the car made for a wet muddy start! We did the walk from here to Cwmtydu beach & it was a lovely trip. Not too strenuous and the sun was out! Sad to leave, think I could live here!
Oh my! What joy! What a pleasure
The most beautiful place. Thank you Norma & James for all your thoughtfulness & kindness, this was just what we needed. The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed. Many Thanks again, see you soon!
A brilliant stay. Our hosts Norma & james were excellent, friendly and nothing too much trouble. We loved the cabin and will definitely be returning again. Just the relaxing peaceful stay we needed.
What a magical, tranquil, idyllic & stunning little cabin, with really well kept grounds. We were totally at ease & made to feel very welcome. Jim & Norma being perfect hosts.
What’s not to love? A roaring Log Fire, glass of wine or 2, watching the birds feed, the odd squirrel, heron etc. Our dog yogi loves everything the area has to offer, New Quay, Coed y Foels woodland trust (forest walk), Cardigan Town Centre, poppit Sands, Aberystwyth all very dog friendly. If you enjoy meat any local butchers are worth a visit too! This Cabin is an amazing find, love it!
